I had a very interesting client come in the other day. He was a man who had recently inherited a couple million dollars from his grandfather (typical in Malibu - haha). Anyway he was from South America and an extremely nice guy. I showed him around a couple of the big houses along PCH, but nothing seemed to be quite right. He said, and I quote "I really wanted a house like Iron Man's."
It caught me off guard a little bit and I even chuckled for a while, but it made me think, that house in the movie was claimed to be set on Malibu's own Point Dume. I of course knew that this wasn’t true, but for everyone else out there who doesn't know that Point Dume is the most westerly point of the Santa Monica Bay and lies on California State Park. Meaning, building a house like that in Iron Man is imposible, unlesss of course you are Iron Man.
So, I did a little more research and found that the house was completely digitally created and actually set on the tip of the Point Dume State Park Reserve, giving an extremely real model of what a house over the cliff would look like. The Director Jon Favreau said, “it’s sort of like the best spot and nobody is allowed to build there, so we put a digital house there.”
Regardless, the house is absolutely incredible, at least in the movie and so is Iron Man's new outfit - Gotta love the USC cardinal red and gold.
